DzX Radial Menu
The Radial Menu Plugin was a solo endeavor to create a universal, production-ready tool designed to solve the common frustrations associated with generating radial interfaces. Most existing solutions on the Unreal Engine Marketplace rely on force-generated graphics, which significantly limit a developer’s creative freedom. My approach was to architect a system that entirely decouples the core logic from the visual representation.
By splitting the backend (responsible for sector calculations and input detection) from the frontend design, I created a framework that allows users to customize the UI to match any art style. This project originated during the development of Divinity Wars and served as my entry point into the technical requirements of publishing code plugins on the Epic Games Store.
While the plugin is not perfect—and I already have several ideas on how to refactor and improve the architecture in a future iteration—it stands as a solid, highly functional tool for the price point: it’s completely free. It was a rewarding way to contribute back to the Unreal community while mastering the plugin distribution pipeline.
