Student Mentoring

For three years, I volunteered as a mentor within a student outreach program organized by the Digital Serbia Initiative. The program’s mission was to pair high school graduates with industry professionals who could provide guidance during their critical transition into university life and their future careers. Students selected their mentors based on professional interests, and my role was to represent the field of gameplay programming, showcasing the power and possibilities of modern tools like Unreal Engine 5.

Throughout each year-long cycle, my primary goal was to provide an authentic look into the life of a professional game developer and spark a genuine interest in the craft. Our curriculum spanned an entire semester, covering everything from the daily workflow of a developer to specialized, hands-on workshops. During these practical sessions, I guided students as they crafted their own game elements in Unreal Engine, culminating in the development of a small sample project that allowed them to apply the skills they had learned throughout the program.
